HIBISCUS ROSE LEMONADE

Hibiscus Rose Lemonade is a real summery treat. I use dried rose petals and hibiscus petals, steep for several minutes, and cool it down with ice. The rich antioxidants in the petals and the lemon juice are excellent for improving your skin’s collagen and reducing oxidative stress.

HIBISCUS ROSE LEMONADE

Makes 6 servings

HIBISCUS ROSE ICED TEA

2 teaspoons dried edible roses*

2 teaspoons dried hibiscus*

4 cups boiling water

Raw honey

½ to 1 cup of lemon juice, either freshly squeezed or unsweetened store-bought 100% juice

Raw honey or maple syrup to taste

Optional: one sprig of mint for each glass

*If you do not have loose leaf tea, swap one teaspoon of tea leaves for one tea bag.

  • Make the tea: Fill a tea strainer with the dried rose and hibiscus petals. Steep in hot water for 4 to 5 minutes. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup. Allow to cool.

  • Once cool, add the lemon juice to your taste. Start with half a cup and increase depending on how lemony you like it to be. Serve chilled over ice. Add a sprig of mint to each glass.
