Early fall refresh starts here with delicious apple, avocado, ginger and greens that will nourish you from the inside out.

BRIGHT GREEN SMOOTHIE

Makes 1 to 2

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups filtered water

Juice of half a lemon

1 apple, cored and chopped (I used pink lady)

2 (2 inch) knobs of fresh turmeric or ginger, peeled

2 cups greens (I used a locally-grown mix of green lettuces)

1/4 cup fresh cilantro

1/4 cup fresh parsley

1/4 cup avocado

A handful of ice cubes


HOW TO MAKE IT

  • Add all the ingredients to a blender and blitz on high until smooth. Drink immediately.
