ADAPTOGENIC COFFEE SMOOTHIE

Adaptogens like Chaga, Lion’s Main, Reishi or Turkey Tail take this Coffee Smoothie to new levels.

I like to add them for their superpowers: they help our bodies better deal with mental, physical and emotional stress. They support our adrenal glands (tiny glands that make our stress and sex hormones) and bring our bodies back into balance, often improving the central nervous system, our mood, energy and mental acuity.  Yassss! 

ADAPTOGENIC COFFEE SMOOTHIE

Serves 1

  • ¾ cup brewed coffee, cooled

  • 1 fresh or frozen medium banana

  • 1 tablespoon peanut or almond butter

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds 

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1/2 tablespoon raw cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder)

  • 1/4 cup ice if banana is room temperature 

OPTIONAL ADD-INS

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon reishi, chaga, turkey tail, and/or lion’s mane

HOW TO MAKE IT

  • Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender and blitz until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
